20th Ave Rayna - Fall

20th Ave Rayna is the kind of dahlia that brings instant color to the field. Its richly saturated dark pink to fuchsia blooms are bold without being harsh, and the beautifully layered formal decorative petals give each flower a full, polished look.

This is one I really appreciate when I am building market bouquets because it does not take many stems to make an impact. Rayna can carry a bouquet alongside softer pinks and blush tones, or hold its own against deeper burgundy, plum and red flowers later in the season. The color has enough depth to feel sophisticated while still being bright enough to catch someone's eye across a market table.

Its approximately 4–6 inch blooms are also a wonderful size for floral design. They are substantial enough to serve as a focal flower, but they do not overwhelm the rest of an arrangement. For weddings, I particularly like Rayna when a bride wants pink florals with a little more personality than the traditional pastel palette. It brings richness and dimension while still feeling romantic.

The plants are known for being vigorous growers and can get quite tall, so I give them good support early in the season. In return, they produce plenty of those striking blooms that are just as satisfying to cut as they are to admire in the garden.
