Bloomquist Georgia C - Fall

$14.00

Bloomquist Georgia C looks like late-summer sunshine with a little fire around the edges. The blooms open in a warm golden yellow, while the tips of the petals deepen into red-orange, creating a flame-blend effect that makes every flower feel bright, energetic and full of movement.

The laciniated form is what really sets this variety apart. Each petal splits and curls at the tips, giving the bloom a fringed, almost spark-like texture. At approximately 4–6 inches across, Georgia C has enough size to make an impact in a bouquet, but the narrow petals keep it feeling light rather than bulky.

In our market bouquets, I love using Georgia C when the field begins shifting into those richer late-summer colors. It pairs beautifully with peach, rust, burgundy, golden yellow, cream and deep red, and just a few stems can completely change the energy of a bunch.

For local florists, the appeal is both the color and the texture. The fiery tips bring dimension, while the laciniated petals add movement alongside more traditional ball and decorative dahlias. It is exactly the kind of flower that can make an arrangement feel more interesting without needing to dominate the entire design.

For wedding work, Georgia C is especially fun in warm late-summer and fall palettes. I like it when a couple wants color that feels lively and seasonal rather than muted. Mixed with softer peach and cream flowers it feels warm and romantic; paired with rust, burgundy and deeper reds, it becomes much more dramatic.

One growing note worth knowing is that some growers find the blooms perform best when harvested on the earlier side, which is exactly the kind of detail I appreciate with varieties destined for the vase.

For the gardener who loves warm color, unusual petal texture and dahlias that bring a little energy to the cutting garden, Bloomquist Georgia C is a standout.
