Clearview Jonas - Fall
Clearview Jonas is the kind of dahlia that makes you stop in the row. The blooms are enormous, opening in a soft blend of blush pink and creamy yellow with warm apricot highlights near the center. The coloring is delicate, but the flower itself is anything but subtle.
Its semi-cactus form gives the bloom a dramatic starburst look, with long pointed petals radiating outward from the center. At approximately 8–10 inches across, this is a true statement flower, but the narrow petals keep it feeling light and airy rather than heavy.
In our market bouquets, one stem of Clearview Jonas can do almost all of the focal work. I love surrounding it with smaller dahlias, airy textures, and softer garden flowers so the size of the bloom can really shine without overwhelming the entire bunch.
For our local florists, this is the kind of flower that brings instant scale to a design. The blush-and-yellow light blend makes it surprisingly versatile for such a large bloom, and it works beautifully with cream, peach, dusty rose, pale yellow, mauve, and even deeper burgundy tones.
I also love it for wedding work when the design calls for something romantic but a little more dramatic. In a large centerpiece or statement arrangement, Clearview Jonas can create the same kind of visual impact that would otherwise take several smaller flowers to achieve.
This is also a dahlia with proven exhibition quality. Clearview Jonas earned both the Derrill W. Hart Medal and Lynn B. Dudley Medal, and its form continues to perform beautifully on the show bench.
For the gardener who loves huge blooms, soft romantic color, and a dahlia that brings real presence to the garden and vase, Clearview Jonas is a memorable variety to grow.
