Ferncliff Samba - Fall

$22.00

Ferncliff Samba is one of those dahlias that brings warmth and movement to the field all at once. The blooms open in a deep burnt orange, with enough richness in the color to feel more sophisticated than a bright, straightforward orange.

Its semi-cactus form gives the flower plenty of energy. Long, narrow petals radiate outward from the center, creating a full bloom with movement and texture rather than a perfectly rounded shape. At approximately 7 inches across, Samba has enough size to act as a focal flower while still being very workable for cutting and design.

In our market bouquets, I love using Ferncliff Samba when the season starts shifting toward warmer late-summer colors. It pairs beautifully with peach, cream, rust, burgundy, golden yellow, and deeper reds, and the burnt-orange tone adds warmth without making the bouquet feel overly bright.

For our local florists, this is the kind of variety I appreciate because it brings both scale and dependable stems to the bucket. Ferncliff specifically notes the strong stems and good depth to the blooms, which are exactly the traits that matter when a dahlia needs to perform beyond the garden.

I also like Samba for wedding work when the palette calls for warmth with a little drama. It can anchor a late-summer design with peach and cream, or move naturally into richer fall combinations of wine, rust, copper, and burgundy.

What I appreciate most about Ferncliff Samba is that the color feels substantial. It is orange, but with enough depth and earthiness to make it easy to design with and especially beautiful as summer starts giving way to fall.

For the gardener who loves deep burnt-orange color, dramatic petal movement, and a strong-stemmed dahlia with real presence, Ferncliff Samba is a beautiful variety to grow.
