Sonic Bloom - Fall

$8.00

Sonic Bloom is one of those dahlias that refuses to settle into a single color. The blooms move through raspberry, mauve, peach, pink, and touches of violet, creating a smoky, blended look that can shift noticeably depending on the light and stage of the flower.

The informal decorative form gives the blooms a loose, relaxed shape, while the slightly split and fringed petal tips add a soft, shaggy texture. At approximately 4–6 inches across, Sonic Bloom is large enough to stand out in a bouquet without becoming difficult to work with.

In our market bouquets, this is the kind of flower I love because it can pull several colors together at once. It pairs beautifully with blush, peach, burgundy, lavender, dusty rose, and cream, often becoming the bridge between shades that might otherwise feel unrelated.

For our local florists, Sonic Bloom offers both color and texture. The blooms have enough personality to make an arrangement interesting, but they are still versatile enough to use across a wide range of palettes. Long, sturdy stems and generous production make it even more valuable when I am cutting regularly for design work.

I especially like Sonic Bloom for weddings where the palette is romantic but not overly pastel. It works beautifully in mauve, berry, peach, and dusty rose designs, and the slightly tousled petals keep everything feeling garden-grown rather than perfectly polished.

What I enjoy most about Sonic Bloom is that it looks different every time I bring a bucket into the design space. Some blooms lean raspberry, others more peach or mauve, and that little bit of unpredictability is exactly what makes it so useful.

For the gardener who loves smoky blended color, relaxed petal texture, and a dahlia that plays well with almost everything around it, Sonic Bloom is a fun and versatile variety to grow.
